Terms

The deal for using Pinky.

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Short version: Pinky is an app you use with people who agreed to use it with you. It notices when a watched app is open and tells your promise. It is offered as it is, Pinky Plus is a subscription sold by your app store, and you can leave any time.

Who we are

Pinky is made and run by Sunday Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17555468, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ) ("we"). Contact: hello@sundaylabs.co.uk. Using Pinky means you agree to these terms. If you downloaded Pinky from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement applies as well.

What Pinky does

You and the people you choose make a promise on your phones: a daily allowance for the apps you pick and a sleep time. Pinky notices when a watched app is open on your own phone and tells the others in your promise when you go past the deal. Everything shared between phones is encrypted on your phone with a key derived from your promise code; we cannot read it. Our privacy policy says exactly what Pinky handles.

Using it fairly

Pinky Plus

Pinky Plus unlocks the team game (the daily penalty, the streak and the goal) and, on Android, the browser watch. It is an auto-renewing subscription sold by Google Play or the App Store, monthly or yearly, with a free trial where offered. One subscriber unlocks Plus for everyone in their promise. The price is shown in the store before you subscribe. Payment is taken by the store, the subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you cancel in the store's subscription settings, not in the app. Refunds follow the store's rules. If Plus lapses, nothing is deleted; the game pauses until someone in the promise subscribes again.

What we can't promise

Pinky is provided as it is. It relies on your phone telling it which app is on screen, on notifications arriving, and on a small relay server; any of these can be late, blocked by battery settings, or down. Pinky may miss a session or report one late, and a promise is only as honest as the phones in it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything that follows from using Pinky or from it not working, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for Pinky Plus in the last twelve months. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

The relay

We run the relay so phones in a promise can reach each other. It stores encrypted messages for 12 hours and no account details. We may limit how many messages a phone can send a day so it stays available to everyone, and we may change or retire it with notice in the app.

Ending

You can stop using Pinky at any time: leave the promise, or uninstall. We may stop offering Pinky, or part of it, with reasonable notice. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without taking away protections you have where you live.

Changes

When these terms change, we update the date above and, for anything that matters, say so in the app or on this site.
